An EAP, or Employee Assistance Program, is a confidential, short term
(generally 3-6 visits), counseling service for employees with personal problems
that may impact their work performance. These problems do not need to be
caused by workplace issues and services are covered by the employer.
Our office is currently credentialed to provide EAP services through the
following insurance providers:
- United Behavioral Health (UBH)
- Wellspan
- AETNA
- Value Options
Since this list is updated frequently, please call our office at 302-376-5259
to see if your EAP is authorized in our office.
Reasons to seek an EAP provider may include:
- Personal issues
- Job stress
- Relationship issues
- Eldercare, childcare or parenting issues
- Substance abuse
- Separation or Divorce
Follow up care (if needed) is managed on a case-by-case basis and may include
continued therapy or additional referral.
You can find out if your
employer offers an EAP service by asking your manager, Human Resources
Department, Union or Health and Safety Representative.
